Unusual Visitor

Goro and Niko are looking out of
window very intently.

What is it? Deer? Big bird?
I don't see anything.

But guessing from the size of Niko's tail...

It must be something very unusual.

What, Goro?

Oh, my gosh! It's a snake!

This snake looks kind of aggressive.

And making Niko's hair stand on end.

 Niko is out now.

Snake left, too.

Goro wanted to play with it a little longer.

If Goro was an outdoor kitty,
maybe he could make friends with it.

(Or eat it.)

And Niko...

I'm glad he is an indoor kitty now.

  1. Whoa, a snake! Niko, look at your bottle-brush tail! Wow!

We had an eastern milksnake in our enclosed garden last year...the mom didn't know what kind it was until after the fact, when she had a chance to Google. That was after she had to get us in the house, away from it, and get it out of our back space. LOL. THAT was an adventure!

Maybe your Mr. Snake will return -- we can only hope!

  2. We're thankful we really don't have snakes here. Bugs yes. Snakes no. We think the Mommy would run away screaming like a little girl if she ever saw one.

  3. OMC! A snake! Niko, that bushy tail will scare that snake away for SURE. Goro, we don't know if snakes taste good because our mean Mommy always takes them away from us, something about rattlesnakes being poisonous, blah, blah, blah.

A snake? I'm so envious! I have never seen a snake, let alone as up close and personal as you got. He was rather cheeky, though, wasn't he?

  25. Dearest Tamago,

Wow, what an encounter and such a small chance to get it all on camera too! Would this be the Eastern Garter Snake? One of the most common snakes out of 41 native species here in Georgia and they are active during the day.
Ill tempered, so Niko must have known that. His bushy tail said it all.

Tomorrow I will have a post about a snake too; one of our felines did bring it into the stair case area...

    Lots of love,

    Mariette
