BFF

I am looking at my old album, Goro.

Oh, don't worry. It's not like that.

***

This tabby girl is my BFF who now lives
 over the Rainbow Bridge.

Bouncy Fun-loving Furbaby: She loved playing
with other kitties. I always enjoyed seeing
her run around, roll around, and bounce around.

Barely Friendly Feline: She rarely purred or snuggled. Only
occasionally, and only when no other kitties were around, she
came to ask my attention. It was like we had secret meetings.

Brave Fearless Fighter: She fell sick. Though her body got
weaker each day, she kept her strong spirit. One night she
came to my bed and we stayed together all night. It was our
last secret meeting. She left for heaven when morning came.

It has been over 20 years since she is gone, but my tears for
losing her have never dried up. The joy of having had her in
my life is beyond words. She is my Beloved Family Forever.

***

And Goro and Niko...

You are my BFF, too.

No, not in your face. I mean, never!

I cherish every moment with my beloved family forever :-)

  1. That's a beautiful tribute to your beloved angel.

It's true, the passage of years often doesn't lessen the grief, though can lessen the intensity. Even though those who have gone before remain in our hearts, always with us, it's certainly not the same.

(((Hugs))) from me, and purrs from the boys (Nicki and Derry @ Fuzzy Tales).

  2. Dearest Tamago,

Oh, I understand about those tears... Our beloved Spicy, the mama-cat that we rescued from the tropical gardens at the Hyatt Regency in Acapulco and flew home to Georgia and after only 9 months she disappeared. My guess is that she got kidnapped because of her beauty. She was so silky and so svelte. I will miss her forever... Having her five babies is fine but it's not the same.
There has to be a place where we will meet them all again. Our first American feline Spooky that got run over at age 1.5... by a crazy driver in front of Pieter's eyes. Never slowed down...
Our poor Spooky II who died of heart-worm because the vet prescribed the wrong anti-flee medication that did NOT protect against heart worm. We left that vet but of course we cannot bring our boy back to life.
In the Netherlands I had a Barty and at age of 6 months, he got poisoned by a neighbor who had birds in a huge fenced in bird cage... Heart breaking! Befor him, I had his Mom whom I called Spooky. She took up residence in the attic of the boiler room, through an open window. I fed her at the college where we both worked. But a neighbor who had rabbits in a fenced in area shot her to death...
Makes your heart cringe! How cruel some people can be...
You always show such genuine cat-love and your two boys are lucky for having such human parents that love them dearly.
Keep the sweet memories of your other furbaby alive.
    Hugs and love,
    Mariette

  7. Dearest Tamago-san,
Oh, what a a unforgettable night of farewell you both had!!! Yes, I was almost in tears, my fellow Japanese friend. When I was before 30 years old, my beloved only 6 years old sheltie died and I still miss him. My hubby doesn't allow me to have any pet seeing my grief was huge.
Haha, I was wondering what BBf means.

Love you always from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  15. That is a great story and I have a kitty whose name is Mahoney that I have the very same relationship with. She does not snuggle but she comes over to my chair and puts her little paw on my leg, like I want attention now. I know just what your are talking about, secret meetings. I loved that story. Goro and Niko, we know you are the Persons Best Friend Forever now. Have a great day.

  31. Sigh..I always feel sad when I hear someone has lost a beloved pet. I dread the day when I will lose mine...God will take care of us I trust. Don't think about it. How mere animals can change our lives, they are God's blessings esp to lonely old ladies like Aunty Tooki!
