Tunnel Project

Tunnel Project

Phase 1 - Get supply

You'll see, Goro.

Phase 2 - Build interface

Phase 3 - Install

And here it is - tunnel to Goro & Niko's enclosure

Phase 4 - Let them use it

You push the door to go outside, Goro.

Adventurous Goro started going out
through the kitty door & tunnel soon.

But still needs assistance to come back inside.

As expected, cautious Niko is hesitant to use the tunnel.

Phase 5 - Convince Niko that it's not scary

Niko stuck out his head through the door, which
is the most progress he has made so far.
It's okay - we use regular door until he feels comfortable.

Tunnel project will be complete
once both Goro & Niko enjoy using it.

After that...we just enjoy ourselves :-)

  17. Dearest Tamago,
It will not take long before they figured out how that door functions! It is so much fun to watch them and they all use the cat door different. But if there is a dog in our garden, I hear them fly through that cat door... Wonder how! Your photos are always super. Pieter just watched them too.
Hugs to you, and my back is now back to 100% health. Just a nasty muscle cold I guess.

  25. Oh my Tamago,
when I saw the first photo I thought Goro is going to chose which fish of the aqaurium will be the next toy. :-)
But no, a new tunnel was the subject of desire. Its always fun for them to decelope something new. And you are so great in giving them words to express their feelings. "That thing ate Goro" made me giggling. If I ever get reborn, I want to be one of your cats.
    Best greetings, Johanna

  33. Wow, that is so terrific. You have a catio. Niko, you will bet brave soon. Goro, so nice of you to try to help Niko through the cat door. Great pictures. You all have a great day.

  34. This is fantastic! Some cats need to be coaxed through openings and swinging doors. Try taping the door open until Niko feels safe to go through back and forth a few times. You can try a wand toy to coax him in and out until he gets the hang of it.
