Thank you so much for your kind words
and sympathies at loss of our Kit.
Your support really meant a world to us.
Kit's ashes
He looks smiling in this picture
Goro was attached to me during the
1st weekend of Kit's passing,
Niko's concerned eyes always followed me.
Thank you, boys. I'm better now.
To show appreciation,
I made a new snack for them.
Boil Goro & Niko's bonito flakes in a pot
Strain out the flakes
Freeze the broth & serve!
What a great summer treat.
Here you go, Goro.
Well, that failed spectacularly.....

Along with ashes, we received lock of Kit's fur
(which was unexpected and made me cry..)
We decided to keep his fur in a frame.
He was a truly precious kitten.
We are just glad you had him long enough so he knew some wonderful love from all of you. He was so cute. You all have a great day.It is so sad to lose them so quickly.
ReplyDeleteYour compassion made Kit't life complete. glade your boys took care of you.
ReplyDeleteRest in peace, Kit. You were adorable. I'm wishing a lot of courage to your family.
ReplyDeleteKit received all the love any kitten could possibly have in his short life. Purrs to you...
ReplyDeleteWe missed hearing about Kit before (Mom bean has been very bad at keeping up with our reading). We're sorry to hear he was so sick, but glad to know he knew your love and caring in the time he was with you.
ReplyDeletePurrs and head bonks.

Purrs Georgia and Julie,
Treasure and JJ
Even though his time with you was short, Kit knew what it was to be loved. That is what matters, and we know you will see him again some day. We are glad he is there with you, and always in your hearts. Hugs, purrs and prayers.
ReplyDeleteAww:-( My heart is broken for him. I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for always doing as much as you could to make him feel comfortable and loved. I am sure he appreciated it. When Nico and Renato were euthanized, I requested some of there fur and whiskers along with they're cremated remains, it really helped a lot. But what really helped me was having a necklace with Nico's ashes in it. Mine is made of ice blue glass and a sterling silver chain. I got it from Clearlyloved on Etsy. Look them up, or here is the link if you're interested; https://www.etsy.com/shop/ClearlyLoved?ref=search_shop_redirect
ReplyDeleteRagdoll Mommy~
Oh, and I forgot -- I actually have a discount code you can use from Clearlyloved if you're interested, it is 10 or 15% off I can't remember. Leave your email in a comment on my blog and I can email you the code. Thanks!
DeleteI just picked up Watson's ashes today.
ReplyDeleteThey gave me a paw print of Watson and I was so surprised and touched that I started to cry. When you leave the pet cemetery with the ashes she let us have some quiet time and ring a bell outside and take a small remembrance rock.
cheers, parsnip
Sending all our love and our gentlest purrs to you on the loss of sweet Kit...Goro and Niko are such good boys, we are so glad they took care of their special Mom the way they did.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to Kit was both very sad and lovey, because he did have a home just for that short while and was loved, and will be remembered.
ReplyDeleteThose bonito flakes look yummy!
Purrs,
The Chans

You gave Kit love for that short time, so you did a wonderful thing.
ReplyDeleteYour boysare so kind comforting you (in their way)...and this Kit story is so touching and sweet.
ReplyDeleteThose bonito flake cubes look tasty and were such a good idea! Maybe the boys will like them with a second try :)
ReplyDeleteKit's framed photo with fur is lovely. You are a kind person Tamago. We know Angel Kit is now watching over you and he will carry the love you gave him , always.
the critters in the cottage xo
It is amazing how a creature, who was in your life for such a short time could have such a huge impact. hugs.
ReplyDeleteI hope you feel better soon! I know how you feel. Kit is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAwww.... we are glad that Kit is back home. And how sweet and thoughtful that they gave you a lock of his fur. I remember when I had to help my childhood cat cross the Rainbow Bridge when I was in high school... a few days after she crossed, I got a sympathy card in the mail from the vet that had her pawprint stamped inside. It made me cry, but it is something that I treasure to this day. I hope that having Kit home and having such a special thing to remember him by will bring comfort.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad Goro and Niko watched over you.
ReplyDeleteSending our love,
Maggie, Mickey Mouser, and Rufus
It's so upsetting, and I am so very sorry. Your other fur babies seem to know how sad you are and are doing their best to comfort you....

Dearest Tamago,
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet, sweet post!
Yes, our fur babies do sense when we grief and they know the best way of comforting us! They for sure have a soul and often a very beautiful one, just like Kit.
He would have been such a gorgeous looking kitten with a happy face. A sweet kitten, that did not have a chance at life due to some ignorant people. You came into his life already too late for him but at least he has sensed the true love of feeling protected, sheltered and deeply loved.
The pluck of his fur is such a sweet gesture; love the idea very much!
Sending you both a big hug,
Mariette
Aww your boys have been very supportive to you. But refused the snack? ...maybe he just hasn't got the appetite. That was nice of them giving you a lock of Kit's fur.
ReplyDeleteDear Tamago,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a touching post, and I love all your photos. Sending you a hug.

ReplyDeleteWe send our thanks, too, for coming by on Chopin's special day.
I have rarely cried so much as I did reading that. I was unable to come back more than once to read the comments as I could not tsp grieving. Today was better. Precious boy is home again and loved.
ReplyDeleteWe're sending soft healing purrs of comfort at this sad time. I love the photo fur combo. There are so many creative ways to remember and it helps with the grieving process.
