The Load of the Rings

I lost my wedding ring.

It vanished, like a puff of smoke.
Searched everywhere - home, office, car.
But no luck.

Well, everywhere except...

Goro... Do you have it?

You did try to snatch the ring before.

Because of Goro's curious nature,
I keep my ring in a ring box when at home.

But if...

The idea of Goro having ring, which
could hurt him, freaked me out.

We took him to the Vet for x-ray.

We knew Niko wouldn't take the ring.

Result - Goro didn't have the ring!

Phew! It certainly
took a huge load off my mind...

Now I probably need to get a new ring.

Sigh... I don't like spending $$$ on a piece
of jewelry. I'd rather buy stuff for kitties.

No way!

Then I found this cute ring online.
$24.99 + shipping!

It's a purrfect ring for me :-)

P.S. My wedding ring is still missing. I guess
it slipped off from finger while washing
hands (which happened before) somewhere.
Husband kindly suggested to get a new one,
but I'm quite happy with this cat ring :-)

  1. Oh dear! I lost a piece of jewelry Scott gave me for our engagement and I felt TERRIBLE about it. Have you checked the P-traps in your sinks?

How funny that Goro was a suspect! I love your kitty ring, though.

  2. So sorry you lost your ring. I do love the cat ring - that is so unique and perfect for us cat lovers! These photos are so cute. Have a nice week and I hope the rain stops soon!

  3. Goro San I am glad you were not into opening the box and taking out rings and swallowing them. But I feel very badly for your mom. It would be good to check yjr traps of your sink(s). Very best of luck. ❤️❤️❤️

  5. Oh, I am so sorry your lost your ring. Sure a new one is nice but I always form these attachments to things like rings etc ... sentimental value :)
Maybe the ring will turn up eventually ..

  7. Oh no! We are glad Goro did not eat the ring, but sorry it is still missing, Tamago-san. We hope it magically appears, soon! And until then ... we love that cat ring. :)

  9. Dearest Tamago,
Oh my, what a loss... of such sentimental value.
Yes, at times I almost can shake off my rings and in water it is really easy. Our European kitchen sink has no big opening so that way it would still be safe.
You at least created a very cute but serious (all participants) blog post out of it.
Indeed, happy that it was not in Goro's tummy.
    Love the cat ring.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette

  10. I think the cat ring is perfect! My human has an engagement ring and she always takes it off before washing her hands... and so far, she's always remembered to put it back on too!

  11. Maybe you find your ring later somewhere you dont think it can be ... Nice cat ring.

  12. IF Goro took the ring, it could be practically anywhere. You'll may find it when you get a new fridge in some years.

  17. Goro is my Benta (always doing something...naughty) and Niko is kind of my Mel, only wants to relax. Nice ring, one day, when you less expect you'll find your wedding ring, somewhere (under the couch, behind some benchtop...) hehehe

  18. Golly! Not only a lost ring, but worrying that Goro ate it too...crikey! Here's hoping you find your ring, even if I like the cat one.

  22. Nós também tivemos o caso de um sumiço de anel, eu procurei por tudo e depois de muitos meses eu encontrei de baixo do refrigerador, acho que um dos gatos jogou com ele. Fico contente que Goro não estava com ele.

  23. After I lost a ring a long time ago that meant a lot to me, I never take them off outside of home. I wash my hands with the rings on. They come off at night when I put them in their box. I get so heartbroken when I lose jewelry because most of it has such sentimental value .. my husband bought me most of it. or it was a token from a trip somewhere . I hope your ring will turn up one day .. and you will wonder where was it all this time .. :)

  38. Oh no! Losing my wedding ring is a big fear of mine. They are so expensive, and I would hate to lost something like that, and like you, I would have a hard time replacing it, even if I had the money to do so! The cute cat ring is a perfect replacement - very cute, and affordable too! I love it!

  41. Goro possibly eating your ring made us laugh! We would never believe he could do such a thing ;p We are happy it wasn't in his tummy though :) Our Mama puts rings in tightly closed boxes too ...out of reach of curious paws. We hope you find your ring eventually. In the meantime, the cat ring is truly precious :)

  43. Over the years, I've had differerent pieces of jewelry disappear in the house. Odin used to steal and hide them. Cats don't usually eat things like rings or earrings but bat them around. I hope your rings shows up but the cat ring is purrfect.

  44. Oh my, what a loss...did you by any chance look down the drain?

Poor kitty, what a ordeal, but at least he's OK.

  45. Your little grey cat looks a lot like ours – but she does not have any white fur – Mitsuko is a Korat and she does not like jewelry fortunately. I am pleased that your cat had not eaten your ring – that would have been a disaster.

  50. Well, the bright side of your story is that your cat did NOT eat the ring. This saved you hundreds of dollars in abdominal surgery, assuming that letting him try to pass the ring would be a risk to his health. You also found yourself a beautiful new ring full of character -- more of that bright side!
