A few weeks ago, I found Niko limping.
Something was wrong with his right rear leg.
So I freaked out and Niko was taken to the Vet.
Diagnosis was: Pulled Muscle
Earlier, kids were running like a storm. Niko
may have accidentally overstretched his leg.
may have accidentally overstretched his leg.
But nothing too serious. Vet said
"Rest and he should get better soon." Phew!
"Rest and he should get better soon." Phew!
So at home, we tried to make Niko
as comfy & happy as possible.
* Easy access resting spots *
We laid mats and towels on the floor.
Though, he spent 1st few days mostly in a cave.
(which was natural as he was unwell)
Goro came to check on Niko :-)
* Easy access litter box *
We placed a shallow litter box.
Well, Goro was the one who used it... :-)
* Comfort food *
I made chicken soup for snack.
Please get well soon, Niko.
He is now running and jumping!
We wish you a safe & fun new week!
Owwwieee!! Yes, sometimes that's the price for an active lifestyle. We are very glad you are better now. Clearly, you had fine nursing help.
ReplyDeleteNiko chan, we are sorry you pulled your leg, but with Mom, Dad and Goro's help, you are all better now. Hooray! Happy week to you all, sweet friends. :)
ReplyDeleteOh Niko! We're sorry you hurt your leg. We're glad you're doing better now.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that Niko is better! And what a great picture you captured of him jumping in mid air!! the new litter box was a great idea, too. They are both so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWe are sure glad you are all healed up Niko!
ReplyDeleteYay ! I'm glad you feel so much better.
ReplyDeleteGet injured by the exercise is not fare , doesn't it?
Mine too. Mom couldn't believe I got it too, I'm an indoor cat now!
Purrs
I'm glad Niko's leg is all better!
ReplyDeleteSounds like Mom's papering did the trick! So glad you are better. Have a great day. Skipper is on the mend, thanks for the visit.
ReplyDeleteFortunately cats heal very quickly when it's not a real disease. Normally they know very well what is good for them. What a luxury a new litter box, lol !
ReplyDeleteYou couldn't have better nursing, Niko dear, you were really pampered. Glad you are fine, now :)
ReplyDeleteWE are so happy that your leg has healed nicely, Niko-Chan! Please be careful in the future!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Hello, I am so thankful that Niko is better now. So sad when our precious pets are not well. Funny that Goro used "Niko's" litter box! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat is great that he is all healed up and jumping away. haha I did the litterbox thing a while back and of course the opposite one used it too.
ReplyDeleteNiko San, that worried us furry muches but the ending is perfect. You are alright. Please be more careful sweet boy because you may re-injure it. Goro San, please keep both eyes on your brofur and make sure he does not over-do for now. Smoochies to you both. XXXXX
ReplyDeleteGood for Niko!
ReplyDeletePurrs for a complete recovery, but not too quickly, so you get more chicken.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog posts! So creative, plus two adorable kitties. Niko, glad you recovered from your injury, and what kitty doesn't like a new litter box, Goro?
ReplyDeletePoor Niko so glad you are all better
ReplyDeleteMy sweet old boy Merlin is acting pitiful. He won't eat or eat much and is staying inside his cat cave .. He purrs like crazy if I talk to him and when I pick him up and carry him around. I am willing him to get well. I cannot bear the thought of him not being here with me.
ReplyDeleteLove Love Love the third photo ! What a elegant jump.
ReplyDeleteYou have the most wonderful photos of your "katties"
Merida and Oliver do not play together. We wish they did. Even as brother and sister, rescue Katties Merida wants/likes being an "only" Kattie.
cheers, parsnip

ReplyDeleteThat must have been scary. Freaking out and running to the vet is always my first and best choice! You never know, and cats don't tell us what's wrong. I'm so glad he's better.

Aw man, Niko -- no wonder you pulled your muscle. That is one impressive and awesome leap you took! WOW! Sorry you were under the weather for a little bit, but it sounds like you got treated like a king! Glad you are better!
ReplyDeleteNiko, we sure are happy to hear your pulled muscle is healed up. Silly Goro, that was Niko's special box (but we totally get why you used it, MOL)

Dearest Tamago,
ReplyDeleteWow, that one photo Niko appeared to be flying 'high'... They can be little devils. Glad that your boys are okay once again.
Our Bandido also did limp, only when he got down from the window sill pet bed which is in the garage up high. Pieter made a stepping climb but they love to reach it from the roof of the Toyota RAV4.
So maybe just like you write, a pulled muscle might be the reason for his temporary limping.
But Moms do worry about their babies!
Bandido is also 'biting' nails! Yep, like humans have habits, pets can have the very same good and bad habits. Wish I could clip our Barty's nails but he never lets me do that; maybe one or two... He threatens to rip me apart when I want to do more. He has been over-grooming lately and also scratching his neck with his too long nails.
Hate to put them inside that dreaded pet carrier for taking them to the vet... They give you that instant look of you're going to kill me.
Don't we love our fur babies?!
Hugs,
Mariette
Good News Niko is healed and what a fun post and great photos and neat captions ~ thanks,
