Homemade Toy

One of (many) failed toys.

It was completely unrecognized by Goro.

Niko did not look happy with it.

Sometimes we have to be creative to please our kids.
Here is simple but sophisticated (?) homemade toy.

Let's see if Goro likes it...

He does :-)

So we played.

And played.

The paper bag also became Goro's favorite hiding spot.

Niko, is something wrong?

...Maybe Niko is not happy with this paper bag.

But don't worry, he found his favorite one.

In closing, here is Goro exposing his
tummy in front of both bags.

Now I'm happy :-)

  1. Ooooh, I love the peek-y windows in the bag! I am very happy you cut the handles on the bag for safety. One of the cats-who-came-before got his head stuck in one of those handles and he got skerred and ran and ran and ran before my Mommeh could catch him to remove the bag from his neck.

  2. Sometimes the best toys are made out of the simplest things. :)
Mommy laughed at the first picture of the "toy" coz it reminded her of, err, the female anatomy bit...Hahahaha.

  3. ha ha ha! Every Cat knows that paper and cardboard toys are the BEST! Mommy modifies boxes for us with cut-out swatports, and we enlarge 'em with our teeth if they need it.
Goro, Mommy LOVES your white tummy heart.

  4. white tummy heart?? that is a delicate way to put it. I see "tighty whities" underwear.

  5. Love that peek-a-boo bag. I also see your tighty-whiteys in the bottom 2 pics. HAH!

  6. Beautiful Niko and adorable Goro!! Paper bags are the bestest toys ever!!! LOL! Awww Goro - we heart you too!! Yay! Take care

  7. Love the peep window. The fact that you played with them makes all the difference, too. They love that.

  8. Boys, your Mommy gives you nice toys. You can't beat a paper bag fur playtime. We heart you too, Goro. Mom loves kitty tummies.

  9. We get peek-a-boo bags too and the fun is some much fun!

  10. Goro san & Niko San.
I am so happy of see both with such a good person..
I can understand them it is nice to enjoy all days.
Mum making them nice to playing with paper toys.
    Kawaii desune.

  11. Hey, we like those windows in your bag. Gives you air conditioning!! Next time we get a bag to play with, we want windows too!!

  12. Dearest Tamago-san

Lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  13. You mean your human actually spent money for that first, totally lame toy?! Ugh. Looks like something my human would get. The bag with the windows cut out of it is SO much better!

  14. Excellent idea to make windows in the bag. We tries this!

It is so true about toys that look like the kits might like them, and they just don't. I have a closet full of them.

  15. Yup ~ sometimes those home-made toys are best. And so much cheaper! But I am thinking you two kitties can have fun no matter what you do. ;)
    xo Catherine

  16. ha ha you made us laugh... we loved the shots of the toy being ignored but then the simple bag being adored! Love Helen Darcy and Bingley xxx

  17. What a good idea for the bag. Our person is going to try that for us. We also think the homemade toys are the very best. Mom cut holes in a box for us once and we loved it. Great pictures. They all made Mom smile. Have a great day.

  18. Cheap and easy toys to brighten our cats!

  19. Ooh, homemade toys are the best, aren't they? We really like your hidey-hole bag, Goro! And Niko's is very nice, too. :)

  20. nice idea! a cat liking a toy is inversely proportional to how expensive it is :D Goro, be prepared for a lot of virtual tummy rubs!

    Pip, Smidgen, Minnie, HOllie

  21. Dearest Tamago,

All our cats LOVE bags. It is so funny observing them play with their bags. Either bags, or boxes.
    Thanks for your comforting words!
    Hugs and love to you,

  22. That bag looks like SO MUCH FUN I think I am going to command my Human to make me one. Ordinarily, I think bags might eat me, but I think the peeky windows might make it safe for me. Also, I think that toy with the little balls looks totally whappable. I would play with that toy!

  23. We love your white mark on your tummy - so cute.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

  24. We love homemade toys especially bags and boxes. It helps being creative like you.

  25. your boys always put a smile on my face!!

  26. I LOVE my bags, Goro san and Niko san. I loves my boxes too. Mommy forgot to make windows so she gonna go do that in a minute.

I have a LOT of unused toys too. A closet full. Simple one are usually the best. I keep telling mommy that. She never listens.

  27. BOL! That bag is a pawsome homemade toy! I luv my boxes like you two like your bags :D You may enjoy something I'll be sharing on Monday. Well, I'll share it on Monday if I'm not fleeing a Hurricane :O

    Waggin at ya,

  28. That's great- I need to try cutting windows in a bag too.
My cats love boxes the best. I don't even need to cut windows- they chew the holes on their own!

  29. Oh yeah! We love boxes and bags too! But cat toys made for cats? We turn our tails to those!

  30. Looks like so much fun! Have a great day. Hailey and Zaphod

  31. Do you know what? My Human *DID* make me one and it *was* kinda fun but then Tuesday came and my world came crashing down around me. So, thanks for coming over to comfort me. I guess I am almost all better now, but I am still plotting revenge. I might need some help if you're available.

  32. Hi Goro chan and Niko chan!
    Wow, How fun!
    The homemade toy is wonderful!

  33. Goro, we think you looked awfully cute, eyes peeping out of those holes cut in the paper bag!

    Niko, play nice!!

    Tom xx

  34. I always cut the handles of the bags too that the cats play with :-) I think the white spot on Goro's tummy looks almost like a heart!!! I think the holes in the bag make it so much more fun, I'm going try that for my boys :-)

  35. Love the "Goro Peep Window" and that wonderful tummy of his!
