Something Green

I grow catnip for Goro & Niko.

They are not so interested, but still
enjoy occasional sniffing.

It grew.

And grew...

And grew some more.

It's nice to have something green at home :-)

Speaking of green...

Goro spotted a green lizard!

Goro, dinner is ready.

Come on, Goro. Eat, eat.

Goro. Eyes on the food, please.

Here is something else green: Niko's eyes

Photos may not show well, but he's
got beautiful green in his eyes :-)

thehamish chases lizards and I find lizard parts in the back yard, mostly tails I must ask him if they taste like chicken ? He is protecting me from all the lizards.

  6. That is a lot of nip. We can't believe you wouldn't eat it!

  7. Wow! We'd be all over that nip if it was here. The mom grew us some nip this year...or we should say she tried to. It didn't do very well.

  8. Wow, that nip plant is like a jungle! Zoe, Gracie and Moosey would like to know if they can visit your house. Ha ha.

We LOVE Niko's green eyes, and how you watch the lizard so intently, Goro. :)

    Hugs!

  9. Dearest Tamago,
Oh my, that catnip did very well, like a bush for cat-town!
And how focussed Goro was on that lizard; refusing to even LOOK at his food.
All I know is that IF they eat a lizard, they puke... So why are they so hypnotized by them? Guess it's because of their movements.
Sending you hugs from a still cool and rainy heart of Georgia. Wednesday we're back to 'normal' it looks like with sunshine and warmer weather..

PS I did have a hair cut recently as well. Will show a photo when my eyes are healed, the skin of my eye lids that is. Got again that kind of rash and am not wearing any eye makeup. Coconut oil has made the skin already a lot smoother and the itching has stopped...

  11. What a lot of catnip you have there, pity you don't care for it.
And you have beautiful green eyes, just like someone here...

  12. You can dry the catnit in the refrigerator. It will become dry, but still green (I made it with parsley and it worked)! Enjoy, Goro and Niko!

  13. Hmm, never tried growing fresh catnip for the kitties; just have purchased dry. A friend told me that she grew catnip in her garden, and all the neighborhood cats flocked to her yard! I think The Hubby would be a bit peeved if I did that...

  16. You boys need to have a catnip party! If you did, we would need to have designated drivers to get us all home after indulging in all the catnip you grew! :) That lizard does look tasty. We will be right over to help you BBQ it Goro ;)

the critters in the cottage xo

P.S. We clearly see your beautiful green eyes Goro.

  20. Both Niko and Goro are gorgeous cats or should I say handsome. I’ll bet that lizard was better than dinner. MOL!

  21. Are you kidding? Not too interested in catnip? My late cat was crazy for catnip. We kept it in a drawer (double bagged), she sat front of the chest of drawer for hours...so pathetic! So many cute memories...

  22. I think you have a nice bit to dry out and keep. Some of us find no interest in it, amazing but true.I like a special nip toy like my little pillow that I lick lick lick. Einstein and Buddy like the big Nanner while Einstein likes the Cigar. Oh I like that too. MOL

  23. That is some mighty tall catnip. . We all are not crazy about that catnip that can be grown. Mom has grown some at times. It grows great outside. I guess fresh cat isn't as tasty as the dry stuff. Have a wonderful day.

  24. Wow, that catnip plant is very impressive, you kitties must have green paws for sure! We don't blame Goro for being focused on that green chicken-tasting-like lizard, we would be too! Niko, you are so handsome, we would like to see your beautiful green eyes in purrson...have a wonderful rest of the week and weekend, dear friends!

  25. Looks like Goro only has eyes for that green lizard ! :-)
And such a lovely picture of Niko ... what a handsome boy he is !

  27. I would be spoon feeding him too. LOVE seeing where he's looking but I would have suspected that! Does Niko san ever offer to groom GORO san?

  28. That sure is a healthy looking plant! My cats don't seem interested in the fresh plant - only when it has been dried. But sometimes I look out my windows and see neighborhood cats rolling around in my garden!
That's a lovely picture of Niko.

  30. Oh they are so cute...and yes his eyes are beautiful, I think they are the same shade of green as the Boo.

Catnip does grow tall doesn't it? It's over 3 feet tall in my garden...and Boo ignores it...lol.
