Dinner time will be soon, Goro.
No, no.
Okay, just a little.
I hope it didn't ruin your appetite.
Your Daddy went deep-sea fishing
and caught tuna today.
It's May 5th - Children's Day in Japan. This is the day to
celebrate happiness of children. Carp-shaped windsocks
are traditionally flown to wish children a good future.
(Picture of a park in my hometown)
We don't have carp windsocks but cooked tuna :-)
We sure wish a happiness for our fur children!
We have those very same dental chew treats for Binga! She loves them, and they never spoil her dinner (nothing ever does). Happy day, boys!
ReplyDeleteHappy Children's Day, Goro-chan and Niko-chan! And Tamago-san, too!
ReplyDeleteWe'd much rather have tuna than a carp windsock too. Tuna tastes better!
ReplyDeleteWe've never heard of Children's Day. What a great thing to celebrate!
What a lovely picture of the windsocks! Are you from Japan?
ReplyDeleteThose two surely do look happy :)
ReplyDeleteAwwwww beautiful Niko and adorable Goro!! Yay for freshly caught tuna! How yummy!! We wish all the children - fur or otherwise!! - in Japan a Happy happy Children's Day!!

ReplyDeleteDearest Tamago,
ReplyDeleteThose two fur children look very happy and healthy. Loved the story again and yes, ours do ask for snack treats in-between meals a lot! They are so cunning. Especially when we have our coffee mid-morning and tea in the afternoon, they beg for their treats...
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh Tamago san, seeing your two fur children eating side by side,, and celebrating Children's Day made my mommy so happy. And me as well. Mommy knew about Children's Day and the wind socks as well as she has two friends, you know of Michiko of course, and I have another American one who loves Japan and has gone to be there many times. His mother-in-law lived there a long time.
ReplyDeleteNiko san and Goro san, I adore you as does my mommy. We love coming here to see you each time.
Love and snuggles to you from me, Katie Isabella (and mommy too)
I didn't know there was a Children's Day. We don't have that here but I think we should.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I think these particular children are appreciating their toonas waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more than some fishie windsock!
ReplyDeleteyummy tuna nom!
ReplyDeleteYou can't resist when cats want something :-)
ReplyDeleteLooks like Niko and Goro enjoyed their tuna dinner
and I'm sure they both are very happy !
Have a great week,
Sylvia
Oh boys, what a lucky life you two have. I am sure you love cooked tuna much more than carpshaped windsocks. Despite that the windsocks look really beautiful. O.K., I agree, the tuna does also. What a special day for your boy, Tamago. I can see how happy they are. Thank you for sharing the cute guys. I wish them luck, too.
ReplyDeleteBest greetings, Johanna

ReplyDeleteChildren's Day should be everywhere. The windsocks are so pretty and colorful. The tuna looks delish. .
